I met my best friend 18 years ago. She was always an Astros fan and she helped me on my baseball journey 8 years ago. We watch as many games as we can together, and when there isn’t a game on we are being back-porch coaches, sharing strategies and theories!

Me and Shylvia had shared a passion for the Astros, I would constantly see her post she was watching the game and that’s when I took that shot and invited her to a game in 2021. The rest was history. I married my best friend in April 20th, 2024. We didn’t have a guest sign in book, instead we had our guest sign a custom Astros jersey so we can display it in our home. Our wedding tag was WHFGTALT (We’re Here For a Good Time And a Long Time). The Astros helped me secure the love of my life and don’t fact check me on this but I believe we helped them win that 2022 World Series. Ps we love those $1 dog nights!

In the 1960s, my grandfather, Chepe Baru, embarked on journeys from Guatemala to the USA. During one of his stops in Houston, he attended an Astros game, igniting an instantaneous bond with the team. He never left home without his Astros hat and never missed a game on TV. With fervor, he imparted his passion for Astros baseball to his children and grandchildren, making it a Valle family tradition. Although he passed away in February 2022 without witnessing his beloved Astros reclaim the World Series championship, we find solace in knowing that he celebrated alongside us in heaven.
